The Department of War has released a video showing US forces boarding a sanctioned tanker in the Asia Pacific region, as part of efforts to disrupt vessels providing support to Iran.
The operation took place on April 19, with US personnel boarding the tanker, which was transporting oil from Iran to another country.
The move is seen as an escalation of tensions between the US and Iran, following a series of sanctions imposed by Washington on Tehran's energy sector.
Iran has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, claiming its oil exports are legitimate and that the sanctions are an attempt to strangle its economy.
