Thanks to Google Home's latest update, users may be able to get offline devices working again with less troubleshooting. The update includes instant account-relinking prompts in the app's device controller pages and a new 'Home Vitals' program.
The 'Home Vitals' website enables developers to monitor their device integration health, identify connection errors, and proactively resolve issues. This could mean faster, more stable device connections for users.
Additionally, Google has improved Gemini's ability to recognize standalone commands versus follow-ups, reducing unnecessary questions and streamlining command recognition for a significant speed boost—up to 1.5 seconds.
The update's response speed improvements are currently only supported for English, French, and Spanish commands. Users may notice 'snappier' responses for basic commands like turning on lights or checking and setting timers.
